Over 150 Injured in Terrifying Train Collision Near Barcelona

Least 155 people were injured in a train crash on the outskirts of barcelona. two trains travelling in the same direction collided while one was parked at the montcada i reixac – manresa station, about 12km (7 miles) from the city centre. 150 people were in a mild condition and five others had been left in a less serious condition, with three people being transferred to hospital. one passenger described the moment of the collision as a “tremendous blow” and said that “people were screaming”.

Crash occurred around 07:50 (06:50 gmt) on the outskirts of barcelona in spain’s north-eastern catalonia region. train traffic was briefly disrupted on several lines due to the accident, and emergency services wrote on twitter about the crash.

Is unclear how the accident happened and officials have yet to comment. spanish transport minister raquel sánchez said she was closely monitoring the situation and wished a “speedy recovery” to the injured. the cause of the crash is still unknown and authorities are investigating what caused the accident.
