Chris Dawson Jailed for 24 Years for Wife’s Murder

Dawson has been jailed for 24 years for his wife’s murder. The murder took place in 1982 and Dawson was only recently convicted. Dawson’s conviction was largely due to the popular crime podcast The Teacher’s Pet.

wife’s body is still missing. Dawson was motivated to kill his wife so he could continue his relationship with his teenage lover. The judge who sentenced Dawson said the crime was “self-indulgent brutality.” Dawson is eligible for parole after 18 years.

daughter Shanelle begged him to reveal the location of her mother’s body. Ms Dawson was just four when her mother disappeared. In October this year, the New South Wales government passed laws to make it impossible for convicted murderers to be released on parole if they refused to co-operate and reveal the location of victims’ remains.
