students studying to be teachers were stabbed to death in their beds in a small town in Idaho. The town’s residents are in shock as the murders are the first in five years. The students were active in their respective fraternity and sorority chapters and their deaths have left the community reeling.
murders occurred in the early morning hours of November 17th. The two women killed, Ms Goncalves and Ms Mogen, had been at a bar in downtown Moscow and were captured on video surveillance at a local food truck before they got a ride home. The other two victims, Ms Kernodle and her boyfriend, Mr Chapin, had arrived at the home shortly before after visiting a fraternity house on the university campus.
believe the murders were targeted, but have not ruled out any suspects at this time. More than 25 investigators are working on the case with assistance from the FBI and Idaho State Police. Gov Little has approved up to $1m in state emergency funds for the investigation.
